Plastic Roller Double Plus chains combine the Double Plus free-flow arrangement with plastic roller elements. They are intended for pallet and workpiece-carrier layouts where the specified roller configuration matches the guide rail and carrier interface.

Keep polymer roller suitability separate from dimensional fit

Plastic-roller designs can be attractive where low rolling resistance or a particular contact behavior is desired, but the roller material name does not define every environmental limit. Confirm the mechanical fit first: pitch, large and small roller diameters, rail contact, carrier support, sprocket engagement and return-path clearance. Then describe temperature, cleaning, moisture, contamination and lubrication conditions. This keeps a correct dimensional selection from being approved for an unsuitable operating environment.

On accumulation lines, also record queue length and restart frequency because the roller/rail interface works differently during stopped-carrier conditions than during free travel. For replacement work, include close photographs of the roller running surface and rail. Scuffing, flat spots or edge contact can indicate a machine-interface problem that should be corrected along with the chain replacement.

For paired conveyors, include strand-center distance and compare roller contact on both sides. A mismatch in rail elevation can concentrate wear even when the correct chain model is installed.
